Outdoor Entertaining
It felt like summer would NEVER be here. But it finally is, and the plants in the garden have been enjoying the damp, cool weather. My hydrangeas are especially happy, and my upper terrace (below) is now ready for a 4th of July party.
You can create this kind of garden-room look on your deck or patio with a few pots of flowers, a table and chairs, and most importantly, indoor-outdoor fabrics and rugs. The tablecloth and bench cushion (see below) have been sitting on my terrace now for about 3 years, and still have not faded.
As you can see, indoor-outdoor fabrics have come a long way from the drab old Sunbrella days. I’m in love with pink and green, and the vivid colors of these fabrics from Stroheim & Romann really add a beautiful but carefree accent to my entertaining space. I’ve also used indoor-outdoor fabrics in family rooms and other areas that get hard wear. They now come in all kinds of textures, from chenille to linen-like, and in a wide range of colors and patterns. Give Emery & Associates Interior Design a call if you would like us to create a beautiful and carefree outdoor “room” for you.

Impossibly charming! And, you’re right – pink and green were meant for each other!
Love the post, and the photos of your terrace garden, Kathia! We look forward to seeing other “changes” in your home and those of your clients. Always colorful and classy!
Basement kitchen looks great but the food looks better!
